One of my favorite hobbies from high school days was making magazine collages! I would sit on my bedroom floor for hours and look for the perfect piece of paper to add to my creation. That experience is a lot of what inspired our newest design +pack, Paper! We’re thrilled to bring these paper scans to A Design Kit. Now you can take this analog experience digital, with over 50 scans to create custom collages. It’s so fun!!
The scans in this Collage +pack are all different colors and styles, so they’re perfect for lots of different types of designs. Above, you can see some lighter cutouts that mesh seamlessly with the bright, airy photo. Below, we’re going all in on color and pattern with a playful, summery vibe!
And next up, we have a design that was made using one of our speckled backgrounds! This one shows off so many of the options available in the new Paper +pack, and we love the variety. Plus, “be your own muse” is one of our favorite sentiments.
You can download the new Paper +pack today, and as a reminder, ADK+ subscribers will get it for free! Share your designs with us using #adesignkit—we love to see what you create. ❤️

Have you ever taken photos with a film camera?? Our newest filter +pack in A Color Story features all of the best colors from film! Analog contains 15 stylized filters that are inspired by our favorite film stocks, and it gives such a fun, unique vibe to your photos. Let’s take a look!
The above photo was edited with the filter Pro 400, and we absolutely love how the subtle grain shows up on the parts of the photo that are out of focus. This filter is perfect for both brightening an image and giving it that dreamy, vintage touch.
This one was edited with Cinematic 800, and it brings out the blues for a really dramatic edit. With this filter +pack, we’re leaning into some of the more candid photos on our camera roll to get the full film-like effect. Since you have less “tries” (often, one take!) to get the perfect shot on film, some of our favorite film photos have a little blur or a unique composition. It makes the photos all about the memory, and we love bringing those edits into the app.
The photo above is another example of what we’re talking about—this was edited with Flash Disposable, and this particular filter adds these incredible tones and a blur that you’ll often get from disposable cameras. These filters work wonders on flash photos, as you can see above!
We can’t wait to see your digital photos with an analog edit, and you can share them with us on Instagram using the hashtag #AColorStoryAnalog. Thanks for letting us share about these new, fun filters!

Happy Friday, friends!! We have a new effect +pack in A Color Story that we are SO excited to share with you. From our creative team comes Dust, a film-inspired +pack featuring dust, grain, specs and flare. The Dust effects are perfect for adding juuuust a hint of mood. ❤️ Let’s take a closer look at the pack!
First up, this photo was edited with the Granular effect. It’s the most perfect, subtle grain that Elsie has been using on lots of her photos since testing this new +pack! We really love this one, and Jared from our team did an incredible job creating these effects.
Next up is this image by Jasmin Chew, and we love how the Waves effect looks on this one. A lot of the effects in Dust feature white specks, so they will be more subtle on lighter images and more intense on an image that’s darker to start off with. The faint, white lines on the Waves effect are giving us some serious nostalgia for scanned-in film.
And finally, we have this photo, edited with Speckled! The flare on the side of this photo is SO true to how film photos turn out sometimes. One really fun thing about the effects in this pack is that, like all of our effects, they can be moved to wherever you want them to appear on the image. So the flare could be on the opposite side of the frame or even in the middle of the image if you want!
Thanks for letting us share about Dust. We are really excited about this effect +pack and hope you love it!!

Hi, friends! We are here with a REALLY exciting update from A Color Story (if we do say so ourselves). 🥳🎉Today, we are introducing Advanced Filter adjustments on iOS!
This has been one of our most-requested features, and we are so excited to get it into your hands. Let’s take a look at what it entails!
While this new tool is a big update, we’ve tried to make it as easy as possible to access! After applying a filter, you will see the advanced filter slider icon that appears on top of the filter preview. Then, tap on the icon to reveal the additional adjustment options—Brightness, Warmth, and Saturation!
Then, slide the Opacity, Brightness, Warmth and Saturation to your liking. This new tool will allow you to customize your favorite filters more than ever before, as it allows you to make adjustments to the filter itself before applying additional tools such as Curves, Tint, etc.
Another way we’re excited to see you use the advanced filters is in your Saved Edits. If you have a go-to filter but wish it was a liiittle brighter, use the Brightness slider to adjust it—then save your custom filter recipe to use over and over again. We made a little video to show you how it works in the app and give a few examples of how you can customize some of our favorite filters.
If you haven’t tried this tool yet, we hope you love it! We have already been hearing some great feedback on this update from some of you over on Instagram, and we SO appreciate your support. It means the world to us! ❤️

Hi, friends! Do you ever re-edit photos? There are some images I’ve taken where, years later, I still love the composition and image itself, but the edit could use a refresh. Maybe some of you are going through old photos or memories while staying home, so I thought this was a great time to talk about some of the new and fresh presets we have available at A Color Story!
Our Desktop sets include Photoshop actions or Lightroom presets (depending on which you select at checkout) to be used with Photoshop CC or Lightroom CC. We’ve worked with some incredible photographers to bring our most recent presets to A Color Story, and they’re honestly some of our favorites to date! Let’s take a look at some before and afters, shall we? ????
Arielle Vey’s Set — Holiday
Arielle is the photographer behind the photos above, including the cover photo for this post! Her newest set in A Color Story is called Holiday. We love her for her rich edits, often featuring colors like a deep turquoise-teal and a warm, peachy-pink. The before + after above was edited with Chelan, and the whole Holiday set delivers a sun-kissed mood! Arielle’s presets are bold and instantly give us that summer holiday feeling—which we are here for.
Teresa Freitas’ Sets — Wildflower Meadow and Superbloom
Teresa Freitas is another very talented photographer. She is, in fact, behind our newest filter +pack in the A Color Story mobile app, Palette! Some of you may have gotten a chance to check out her bright, candy-colored looks in the app, and we’re happy to say she has two new sets available on A Color Story | Desktop. Wildflower Meadow features soft and tinted tones, with low contrast, best used on outdoor images. You can see in the photo above, the filter Cuckoo Flower completely transforms the feel of this location. Dreamy!!
The photo above was edited with Blazing Star (Infrared I) from Teresa’s set, Superbloom. While maintaining Teresa’s pastel style, Superbloom offers more contrast and bolder edits, along with two infrared filters like the before + after pictured above. These are best used to create surreal red, pink and purple hues from what is typically green, and we love how unique they are! I could see some really cool art coming out of these presets. ???? And if you’re interested in both of Teresa’s sets, you can snag a little deal by purchasing the Wildflower Bloom Collection. Yay!
Jeff Mindell’s Set — The Shore
Jeff Mindell’s set, The Shore, is inspired by his summers growing up along the boardwalks of Jersey Shore. We love using them for brightness, warmth and vibrance, and they work great on outdoor photos as well as well-lit indoor shots. Jeff’s take on blues is one we love—never basic, and never boring! Our favorites boast bright teal like in Stone Harbor (pictured above). And as a bonus, check out how good this same filter looks on some cookies Emma made recently!!
As I mentioned, we love working with talented photographers to bring these presets to life. If you’re a photographer with a unique vision, we’d love to include your Photoshop actions and Lightroom presets to our online marketplace! Feel free to email us for consideration here: hello AT acolorstory DOT com.
Thanks to all of you for letting me share about what’s going on at A Color Story these days! We love hearing from you, so if you have any questions or comments at all, feel free to hop into our inbox or find us on Instagram.

Happy Friday!! Steffy is one of our favorite creators, and we’ve heard such good feedback about her filter +pack, Harvest Moon, which is why we’re so happy to introduce the Steffy Collection today! We’ve teamed up with Steffy to curate a collection of her favorite filters, and by getting the Steffy Collection, you’ll save 33% on what these filter +packs would normally cost. Can we say, bonus?!
Of course, it wouldn’t be the Steffy Collection without including Harvest Moon! We love her stunning filters that focus on warm tones and boosted oranges. We launched this filter +pack with Steffy in the fall, and we’ve been excited to see the Pumpkin Spice filter on your images year-round! That filter in particular turns blue skies into a really lovely, warm aqua.
We really admire Steffy’s friendship with fellow NY bloggers, and it’s so fun to see them featured in her collection. First up is Jag Lever!
Jag Lever’s been creating some amazing content lately with her outfit photos, and we love to see her filter +pack, Twilight, in action! Twilight features some edgier tones, as well as an overall less-saturated look. Maintaining contrast and challenging shadows, these filters mute color enough for mood while keeping the punch.
Noelle Downing is another inspiring creator, and we are all about the message that her feed and her filter +pack communicates. Each of the filter names in the I AM +pack are empowering mantras of characteristics we possess. I AM: Queen, Lush, Strong, Worthy, Enough, Abundant, Powerful, and Thriving. Wow!! The I AM filters are great for fashion and travel, but more than anything, drawing attention to what’s always been beautiful.
To round out the Steffy Collection, we have two effect +packs by Elsie! The photo above was edited with Glow, which features a versatile combination of light flares and subtle prisms. Created for lifestyle photography, these effects blend in and out of the photo without overtaking it.
And finally, we have Elsie’s Texture +pack! Inspired by old albums and worn, imperfect prints, this effect +pack adds subtle scuffs, scratches and light leaks. Love it!!
Thanks for letting us share about the Steffy Collection! It’s a great deal, and there are so many types of filters represented—we know that no matter your style, you’ll find some favorites here. 😍🧡
